In a poignant turn of events, Seva Bharti has stepped forward to provide solace and support to the children left orphaned after their mother, Reena Devi, tragically lost her life in a distressing incident at the Indralok metro station in Delhi. The unfortunate incident occurred on December 14 when Reena Devi’s saree got entangled in the metro gate, leading to her demise. Compounding the tragedy, the children’s father had already passed away.

Seva Bharti, recognizing the dire situation of the 12-year-old daughter and six-year-old son left behind, has decided to adopt and care for them. The organization, committed to social service and welfare, will undertake the responsibility of their upbringing and education.

Ramesh Aggarwal, President of Seva Bharti Delhi, expressed deep sorrow over the incident and emphasized the organization’s commitment to securing a future for the bereaved children. In collaboration with close relatives and obtaining necessary approvals, both children will be enrolled in Seva Bharti’s residential schools, known for providing quality education and holistic development.

Seva Bharti operates a residential school named Seva Dham Vidya Mandir in Mandoli since 1987, offering education up to class 12 based on the CBSE board. Additionally, vocational education and higher studies are facilitated in other colleges. Currently accommodating 299 children from 18 states, the institution primarily focuses on improving the lives of underprivileged children, especially from areas affected by Naxalism and terrorism.

For the 12-year-old daughter, admission will be granted in Aparajita, a residential school for girls situated in Anand Niketan, South Delhi. Aparajita ensures that all essential needs, including education up to graduation and vocational training, are provided free of cost. As Seva Bharti continues its mission of social upliftment, these initiatives aim to bring a ray of hope to the lives of those affected by unforeseen tragedies.
